PURPOSE
Children are important to God and at First Baptist Church, they are important to us. Jesus said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” We believe that it is important that every child has the opportunity to become grounded in the Word of God, and we do this in a fun and exciting way though Master Clubs.
Master Clubs is a Bible-based program that trains children to serve Jesus though games, memory verses, and other activities. Our mission in Master Clubs is to …
Youth group meets each Wednesday night. Teens meet in the church entryway and then head over together to the youth room (located in the first building on the left when you arrive on the church property). Teens and youth leaders enjoy a casual time together which usually begins with Mr. Flack sharing some random trivia facts. He then introduces the week's letter in the "ABC's of Theology" and reviews the previous letters. After prayer, Mr. Flack teaches through a passage of Scripture. The evening usually ends with a game.
While the children and teens enjoy their programs, adults meet in the auditorium for a time of Bible study and prayer. The time begins with a song, and then folks break up into groups to pray together. Pastor then leads the adults through studying God’s Word, often working his way through a single book of the Bible at a time.
The Master Clubs program includes Scripture memory, life application, and an emphasis on serving Christ now, character building, and discipleship.
Clubs usually consist of a Bible lesson, gym time, memorizing Bible verses, prayer time, and singing.
Highlights from the past have included learning and enjoying different recipes in the kitchen, time spent sharing musical talent at a local nursing home, and raking leaves for some of our senior saints at our annual Rake & Shake. Other favorites include Christmas Caroling and a Pinewood Derby.
